League Announcement
Local League Rounds
Sections: The competition is held in two sections. The first section
is the Elementary section with players in grades K through 6th grade. The
second section is the Primary section with players in only grades K through
3rd grade. Teams may enter late with half-point byes for rounds missed. They
may enter at the second meet or the second game at the first meet. A house
team and single game match-ups will provide competition for any extra
players.
Trophies: awarded to all teams completing the meet schedule and
present at the last meet. Participation ribbons will be given to team members
at the final meet. Teams that go on to the NSCL tournaments may also get
trophies there.
Entry Fee: $15/team, checks payable to Northern Schools Chess League,
by November 16. Checks or cash preferred. Membership in the United States
Chess Federation is NOT required for participation. Check or cash must be
included with registration. Pairings for registered teams will be done ahead
of time so that these teams can start playing as soon as both teams show-up
on the site.
Late Registration: Telephone or email registration up to the night
before the tournament is allowed.
